So I just got a new 9700 pro and decided to try the DX2 demo since I couldn't before. It runs fine and I can turn everything on and run it with AA and AF no problem.

Also did some of the tweaks talked about in a thread in the software forum. Made the game look a little better but there is a problem, and I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.

If I leave bloom on I get artifacting (ie little black boxes start to appear around the edges of objects, particularly when they have some sort of lighting shining down on them.

I haven't seen artifacting in any other game I've tried, was able to run MOHAA with everything on and never got any sort of artifacts in an hour of play, so I don't think its overheating. I have run aquamark and 3dmark03 and didn't see artifacts in any of the tests. So it seems like it is only this demo, but it makes me wonder if maybe the demo employs some video card magicery that those tests don't. So maybe its using some more advanced thing that is hosed on my card for whatever reason.

Should I be worried or is it a DX2 problem? I don't remember anyone saying they had artifacting with bloom on, just that they didn't like it.

Thanks for the help.

You`ve got AA on.
Either in game, or in the ATI Control Panel. Switch it off.
