My Question for anyone: I am building a new pc and I want to go with the 64 processors. I understand that the 754 socket will be old news soon. will I be able to use any of the currently available 64 processors with the new 934 socket boards? Or ...will I have to get a chip that is specifically for the 939 socket? Any info is appreciated.

Socket 754, 940, and 939 are not interchangable. I think that socket 754 will actually have a reasonable lifespan; it may be the best A64 bang for buck for awhile. Obviously 939 will be the most future proof, but I wonder if we will actually see 939 motherboards and cpus that are affordable until the end of this year.

I am wondering the same

might have to wait for the K8T800 Pro or NForce2 250 to become mainstream, and just do the 754 for a year or so.. still undecided :D

I dont think the 939 will be affortable anytime soon and I gotta stop reading all these boards and reviews because im thinking that i should upgrade from 754 in a year or two when really my mobile/lan party should be good enough for a while.
