New 7900GT KO or wait for G80 series

I have a AGP 6600 right now w/ 2gigs of OCZ platinum mem on a DFI nf3 board. I am able to play bf2 on mid settings and oblivion on low to mid settings w/ low fps. I have bought a ASUS A8N Premium board and a 550W psu and now i am trying to decide whether or not to wait for the new 8 series gpu's or to go ahead and buy the 7900gt ko. And btw, I am going to buy an opteron 165 over the 3800+ b/c of oc'ing capabilities. Is this a good move?
