Hi,
i have bought a Gainward 2400 6800 GT Golden Sample off Ebay. This card is guaranteed by Gainward to run stable even at Ultra settings. The owner has changed the heatsink to a Silencer 5.
So i installed the card, put Forceware 78.01 on my PC and now i am getting some weird artifacts. You can see them here http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=3799588 They look like some wavering red stripes all over the screen. Does anyone recognize them as coming from memory r core overclocks?
This happens in 3DMark05 demo 1 and Chronicles of Riddick from the beginning. The Nvidia 6800 and 7800 demos run fine and so is Age of Empires 3, Far Cry etc. In Half Life 2 i get those occasionally.
Once or twice the whole screen froze in 3DMark 2005.
Clocking core and memory way down (to like 200/700) has not done anything and i get core temps of around 44-47C idle and 57-60C fully loaded.
So far i cleaned the heatsink and reinstalled it with AS. The ramsinks seem to not touch the cooler properly which i have read in some reviews of this cooler, but i put some extra Arctic Silver on it to close the gaps.
I have an Asus P5B533 (AGP 4x) with p4C 2.66@3.3 with 1,5 MB RAM which ran perfectly stable before with a 9700 Pro. I have an Enermax 430 watts PSU.
Please help me, i really don't know what to do anymore
