Take the black shroud off that covers your GPU and PSU, then look for a 8Pin PSU connector. With that large of a PSU, you should have two available - I would think.
Yeah, there should be an 8-pin connector somewhere in there, it may be hidden behind the other side of the computer depending on how well they were at cable management. Usually it is close to the 6-pin connector though.
Agree with above, link below, there is owner looking for 2 -8 pins for a gtx 690 upgrade. Evidently there are two 8 pin pci- connectors there. Each has 2 pins dangling off, so they can be used as 2 -6 pin or 1 of each or any combination there off. http://en.community.dell.com/owners-club/alienware/f/3746/p/19497984/20327545.aspx
it has 2 extra 6 prongs attached to each other with a 2 prong also connected to those wires. the video card now has an extra 6 and 2 hanging off with on six attached. the 680 card came with a converter I believe to make 1 8 out of 6's correct?
The pins only go in one way... Make sure the card is fully seated into the pci-e slot and your 6+ 8 pin connectors are fully into the 680. Its really simple.
it ended up being a faulty card. I spoke with a couple techs from NVidia and after troubleshooting, they came to that conclusion. I contacted newegg and they said send it back for the refund.
