New 3dmark coming soon?

A lot of people bash 3Dmark, but I think the app is OK. Everyone knows it's somewhat artificial and doesn't always correlate with real-world performance, but it was just intended (IMO) to be a "quick-and-dirty" way to measure and quantify graphics performance. I look forward to the next version.

I agree, I think it's good to use for comparison purposes.


3dmark06 looks like it's gonna rape the hell out of my 6800GT, I can't wait.

i'd rather have a new Aquamark... also 3dMark gets more and more annoying with every version, trying to get you to 'buy' it...

I like it just because of the graphics, I don't care about the benchmark. They have a long time to develop such short scenes so they come out incredible (for the time).

Won't be useless with VTF, HDR, softshadows, thing of that nature, etc.


Course, we never know what will be the default settings until it arrives.
