New 3dmark coming soon?

A lot of people bash 3Dmark, but I think the app is OK. Everyone knows it's somewhat artificial and doesn't always correlate with real-world performance, but it was just intended (IMO) to be a "quick-and-dirty" way to measure and quantify graphics performance. I look forward to the next version.

I agree, I think it's good to use for comparison purposes.


3dmark06 looks like it's gonna rape the hell out of my 6800GT, I can't wait.
 
I like it just because of the graphics, I don't care about the benchmark. 😛 They have a long time to develop such short scenes so they come out incredible (for the time).

Won't be useless with VTF, HDR, softshadows, thing of that nature, etc.

Do you think this will mainly being aimed at testing G80 and R600, with regards to the new features in this 06 version etc?
