I am running an AMD 1400 TB on ASUS A7V 133 MOBO with 1 gig of PC133 ram.... currently have nvidia GForce MX 400 with 32 MB of ram .... will I get a good level of 3D performance increase if I go with an ATI 9000 or a 9500 ... any replys will be helpful

you should get a bit of improvement I have an old machine that is similar to urs I 1.4 t bird 512 ram upgraded from a geforece 2 ti that I got 3d mark scores of 5400 with now with a 9500 pro I doubled them atleast. So if u think 2wice the 3d mark scores is any sort of improvment then yeah go for it. it will be a nice card if you ever decide to upgrade your rig too.

thanks for the reply. As far as gen usage on the system I'm quite happy with the performance and wont be updating it soon but still wanna run games @ higher frame rates. My current card runs old games like Quake 3 but have to revert to 800 X 600 while running newer games and U can forget about AA .

I'm running a T-Bird 1.4 with a Geforce2 GTS and asked a similar question regarding upgrading to a 9500PRO or a 9700 PRO, and the consensus was I would see a significant improvement in game performance, so I would imagine you should as well.

Now all i have to do is pull the trigger on the 9700 PRO 😀
