Not sure why this is interesting.

They align 189+ sensors with 16 MP.

I did not read how much spacing is between the sensors.

Also

CCDs are the baseline science sensors but we are also pursuing hybrid CMOS detectors as an option for the guide sensors and expect early prototyping of both.

You may or may not have noticed this forum is called "Consumer Electronics".

nobody is buying this and carrying it around on their necks. I suspect it would be better suited to Highly Technical.

It's suitable here.

Personally, I'd just take s huge pan with a 36MP camera and end up with the same result. Gigapan essentially facilitates that for you.
