I made the decision last week to replace my second gaming rig i5-6400. I primarily use the rig for friends when they lan and to host all my chat applications. I also run a handbreak script every night to covert recently downloaded material. I got the rig up and running Saturday night. In general gaming its faster than the 6400. I noticed it is about 2.5 times faster at converting videos in handbreak. I have installed claymore CPU miner and have got the CPU mining monero at 550h on seven threads. I have the CPU undervlolted and it's running at about 64c under load with the PRISM cooler. I have my scripts set up so when handbrake runs it kills the miner and restarts it when done. The PC is doing everything significantly faster than what it replaced. It's also generating about 55 cents a day after power costs.
I plan to try overclocking but, due to the board choice(space requirements) I doubt it will amount to much.
