So does that mean the Tahoe/Suburban will have it beat in tow rating? I mean, realistically that's one of the main reasons to buy this instead of a Flex.

Interesting... I never saw those 2 as alternatives. I can see that though.

? What else would be an alternative? They're the only full-size SUVs on the market.

True. Forgot about that and the Armada. But neither has the cargo capacity of the long wheelbase Expedition/Suburban.

The 3.5 Ecoboost V6 on the F150 is rated for towing 11,300 pounds. The 2015 Suburban is only rated for 8,300 pounds. Why do you feel that the new Expedition won't be able to match that? All options far exceed the towing capacity of something like the Flex or any Minivan.

this.

I almost bought an armada, they are big, but nothing compared to the larger wheelbase versions of the Tahoe/suburban and Expedition

I still am sad you cant get the excursion anymore

I have no idea. That's why I asked. What about the 2500 Suburban?

The 3/4 ton Suburban / Yukon XL were discontinued in 2013. After 2015, the Toyota Sequoia will hold the reigns as the heaviest tower unless the new Expedition beats the 9600 pound mark. The days of the 12000 pound towing Diesel Excursions and 2500 Suburbans are long gone though.

Just due to towing? I thought the Expedition EL had the ~ same cargo space?

I just view the Flex as an ugly overpriced station wagon style vehicle. And when I have been inside of one, the cargo space doesn't seem nearly as usable.

Yeah I miss the excursion for towing capacity. And no, the excursion itself was a flat out bigger vehicle (based on the F-250). It was bigger inside, outside, and in capacity, plus could have a diesel :D.

I'm interested in this, only in I got so much love from my 2004 Expedition. Problem is I can't really afford a nice Expedition (car market is up so much higher than it was when the fuel crisis first started). So the used truck market is where I'd stay, and the SUV's (ford/GM alike) have been so backseat to anything else in terms of development for the last 7-8 years, that nothing used really makes sense. "Here's your 250HP designed in 2001 V8 with your 4 speed transmission".

I'm still targeting a new 2015 F-150, a new stock 2014 F-150 King Ranch, or a used 2013+ F-150 King Ranch.
