Update: 17 new photos added, including top-up shots.

BMW today released initial details on the 2007 3-Series convertible, which will go on sale early next year. The car will make its debut at the Detroit auto show in January. Like its coupe counterpart, the cabriolet will be offered in both 328i and 335i editions in North America, and 325i and 335i guises in Europe. BMW says the 306 horsepower 335i model will reach 62 mph in 5.8 seconds.

The model now comes with a three-piece electronically-operated retractable hard-top ? a first for BMW. Because the roof features a larger rear glass windscreen and side windows, visibility has improved by 38 per cent compared to the outgoing model. Gallery after the jump?

Not bad at all. It still think it looks pinched from the back seats heading into the trunk area.

Looks great.

I love the tops like that. It's really nice to have. My mom has the Mercedes that does that. The Mercedes is way to cramped though. She wants to pick up the BMW instead.

The current 335i is capable of doing close to 350/350 with some mods. Check out the bimmer forums.

Because no other car can be modded for performance.

Actually there is already a chip that makes the car produce 380hp and 400tq, I know because mine is coming in december.

And syringer you are an idiot this is a tubo car its very easy to get more hp with just a chip or reflash. It responds to mod very well. Ordinary cars will not see these kind of gains.

Yup, still ugly.

No, you are ugly

Wow, you're very mature...

The new Beamers imho arent as ugly as the last gen but im still not feeling the redesign. Imho, the E46 3 series were the most beautiful and look better than even the new ones.

I disagree the new coupe looks a lot more modern than the e46. The e46 is just too old of a design.
