NEW 1700+..what to expect??

I'm new to overclocking so can someone tell me what to expect from this setup...


AMD 1700+ (AXDA1700DLT3C JIUHB:0310XPMW)
Abit NF7-S rev 2.0
Geil PC3500 1gb (2x512mb)
Antec True Power 380watts
Thermaltake Volcano 7+
Artic Silver 3

How far can I expect to overclock? I know it varies, but maybe someone has a simliar setup. Thanks for your help!

with a good HSF (slk800), you can get it to 2300Mhz

I have the exact same stepping as you. Mine is running 2300MHz at 1.68v on a SiS746FX with an AX7/40cfm fan. It will run 2400MHz, but it takes 1.81v to do that.

I have the exact same stepping too. I'm stable 2.2gig @1.6v, 2.3gig @1.7, and breifly tried 2.4gig @1.75v and it worked, but that was just 1 run of 3DMark2001, then I backed back down to 2.2gig because my case cooling is poor.
