New 100mb USB ZIP Drives - Any better than the old ones

Was wondering if anybody knew if the new, redesigned, sleaker 100mb USB ZIP drives drives were any more reliable than the old USB 100mb ZIP drives (or if there is even any difference)? Or didn't the USB 100mb have as many click-of-death problems?

Thanks

I think the change is purely cosmetic. Eventhough I've used zip drives for 3 years or so, never had the 'clik of death' from my ide, parallel or usb drives.

i got the click of death from a remanufacterd unit and took it back to compusa and got a brand new one by doing a little switch a roo and i use the 250 on my laptop no problems there

I have 2 Zip drives; one older style SCSI and a new style USB Zip. I don't see much of a difference other than the casing. I think Iomega needed to Jazz (no pun intended) them up to sell them these days with the low prices that burners are now.

BTW.. I've never had the "click of death". Knock on computer plastic. 🙂

If the price is the same, I would go with the newer one, just for click-of-death avoidance issues. However, the "old" USB drives are fairly recent anyhow, so it shouldnt be a problem with them either.
