My Mazda is 11 years old, still a joy to drive, never had a problem. I'm biased. 🙂

A friend was about to buy an Altima, and after he was reluctant for a couple of days, the dealer offerer a Maxima with 7,000 miles on it. He got the Maxima. Great (cloth) interior, much nicer, overall.

I probably could have gotten it for a bit less, but it was my first NEW car purchase and I was eager to get it. I looked at the mazda 6 at the ford dealership here in town and could have gotten it cheaper, but I didnt think the car was as nice as the maxima. the altima is a nice looking car also, but it has a huge rear end.

Dude, that's not a good deal on a 2k3 😉

Ditto. I hope you mean 25K CDN otherwise you got hosed.

Why do they give the cars away for so little money in the US?

Base mazda 6: 1.8l comfort - 120hp: ?19700

cheapest 2l - 141hp: ?22000

cheapest 2.3l - 166hp: ?25610

not fair...

As a self-styled nissan fanboy I will say that if you found the mazda's interior WORSE than the 2.5S then mazda has really got some groveling to do before God if if wants to get let into heaven. I found the altima's interior perhaps the lowest piece of sh*t interior I'd ever seen. I liked the car otherwise (roomy, cheap, fast, NISSAN), but certain parts of it were lower quality than my 93 SENTRA.

The lock for the steering wheel was quite clearly poorly cut from a chunk of scrap plastic they found at the junk yard. Very shoddy.
