How is NWN multiplayer? How's it done even? Is there a central server that prevents cheating or is it all done just amongst friends? Like one guy creates a server and people connect to his IP address? How do they check cdkeys that way then without a central server that administers games?

You connect to the central server first, then it lets you direct connect or join a hosted game. This way someone banned from peoples servers stay banned since it registers the login account and you only get one per CD-Key, but you can have as many players as you want per account.
