well i got a laptop now, and it has an ATI chipset. the main thing i hate about ati chipsets, is that they dont have as godo support for odd resolutions and refresh rates.
anyways my laptop has a 16mb radeno 7500 mobility. the catalyst drivers dont cover this so well that sucks.
anyways i connect my laptop to a 19" phillips monitor at home. on my old gf4mx on my old desktop (since sold to roomate) i could run 1600x1200 @ 70hz max.
now that was fine with me, it was flicker free. but on the radeon i can only do 1600x1200 @ 60hz, or 75hz which my monitor doesnt support. now this sucks. since i cant run 1600x1200 at all since 60hz is terrible, and i have to run 1280x1024 (which is also bad the nvidia had the option of 1280x960 which has the correct aspect ratio).
anyways, does anyone know if i can just add those 2 modes in. or is that impossible.
nevermind, i downloaded something called OMEGA driver for radeon off some site, and it has the mode i want.
