Was looking around pricewatch today and saw this:

12x/20x black face plextor scsi-2

Says its a new pull with 68pin interface. Is this a 12x CDR drive?

edit - thought this was a burner, but its just a drive - sorry!

No, it's a CAV CD-ROM, min. read speed is 12x, max. is 20x. It went by the name Plextor 12/20 Plex -- I used to have one. Good drive, but not a terrific deal.

This is a SCSI based CD Reader, not a Writer. It is a perfect match for a SCSI Plextor CDRW and a good price. If you don't have a SCSI card on your system already, and aren't running a SCSI CDRW, it is likely not worth the hassle.

naaaaa - I got my 40x plextor for 75 shipped just a month or two ago - this deal suck. coffee just hasn't kicked in yet.
