Shew! There was carbon that built up on the bottom, and I meant to clean it last week, but never did. I figured it could cook this just fine, but I had the oven on 500, so the carbon flared up. Quick thanking lead to baking soda, and no damage to oven or food. I was scared for a minute!

Since you will probably be drinking before you cook, and drunk by the time it's done, it really doesn't matter what you drink with dinner.

Besides, generally red with meats :D

Yeah, I knew reds went best with beef, but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks. :wine:

white with fish, light pastas, some chicken dishes, and dessert
reds go with hearvier meals, as you tend to drink less of it.

you should try to graduate wine stages, from white/very sweet (like pinot grigio) to dryer whites, then to lighters reds, like shiraz, then to the hearvier/dryer reads.

White wine is for girls, you should never order it around your boss or something.

If you're considering pinot grigio, you may as well go for an alcopop. :)

I'd be inclined to go with a heavier wine like a shiraz cabernet or perhaps even a bordeaux for a nice steak.

That's why I stick to Wild Irish Rose.

I usually grill steaks outside, but sometimes when its cold I'll broil them in the oven. I used to say, "we got a fire in the oven" whenever there was smoke coming out.

So one day there really was a fire in the oven, and I'm yelling to my girlfriend who's in the living room. She thinks I'm overreacting, so she ignores me. I'm going crazy, trying to put out the flames, when she finally runs in. She throws some flour on the flames and that put it out.
