Russia doesn't exist just to please the US. They have been nice to us lately, helping out on the oil market and supporting war on terrorism. But Russians have their own economic needs and act in their own interest. It's called capitalism. We tought them what it is and they learned well. They have skills and products that the Iranians want, Iran has money that the Russians want. It's very natural. I know to you the Iranians seem like an Islamic terrorist state, but Iranians never took Russian hostages. There are many Muslims in russia, and Iran is probably one of the more peaceful neighbors that Russia has. They are kindof like Mexico to us. Russians are much more concerned about expansion of NATO to their doorstep than they are about Iran. The Islamic terrorists that Russia fears are Sunni Wahabbi sects from Saudi Arabia that infiltrate Chechnya, not the Shiite Iranian muslims who are relatively peaceful even if they are fundamentalist.
If US is so concerned about Russian reactors, why don't they buy them so they don't go to Iran? I am sure the Russians don't care where their goods go. It's easy to say don't sell this and that, but there is a huge nuclear industry in Russia that needs money and many workers who need to make a living.
If they don't make a living in Russia building reactors, they will just go to Iran and build reactors there. Also, the Russians do care about Iran not having nukes because Iran is on their border. They have made an assesment of that threat, I am sure. Besides, I thought Bush liked nuclear power.
