The basics of why it crashes are obvious, but not everyone is an expert on heli fight...

I'm guessing when the line became taught it yanked on the heli and the pilot couldn't or didn't know how to correct fast enough. That's basically what it looks like. The line becomes taught, the boat jerks forward... slack.. taught.. crash.. lol

Or maybe the heli pulls on the boat, jerking it foward.. and at that point he has overcorrected, not expecting the line to become slack again.. so he just loses control and goes into the water.

Damn, messed up what people will do.

As for the pilot, I think he and the other person survived alright. The chopper was all open and the hight was extremely low. Likely recieved quite a knock from the crash and then swam out.

Helicopters only cost a million? I would say that cost about 5-6 million.

That accident could have chopped those two people up.
