I purchased a computer desk chair 2 months ago from staples. I think regular price is $120 i got it for $69.99 and purchased furniture replacement warranty thing for $10. Well it broke 2 days ago!!!!!!!!! My dumbass took it to stapels earlier just for them to tell me that they can't replace it i have to call the 1800 # and they will send me a check thing!!!!!!!!! WTF so i call and they tell me they can't issue me the check until i fax them the receipt, AND it iwll be for the amount of the chair prior to tax! Some replacement i have to pay for tax AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will recieve it 10-14 business days after it gets issued!!!! THEN if i purchase anothr chair the replacement warranty is VOID and i i must purchase a new one for the new chair!!!!!! AND on top of it all liek i said my chair is about $120 and so the check they send me won't even replace my chair!!!!!!!!!!
BULL!!! BULLLLLLL never purchasing from them again!

pft still bull!
when you buy a warrnaty it should be fully covered for the msot part. Everyone here is so against Best Buy but with their warranties you walk in with the product hand them the warranty card or they look you up! staples can't even do that. Then they give you the replacement and if they no longer carry your model they give you the equivalant or 1 model up.

To me, It doesnt sound like Staples fault.

nah it isn't especially if it is all in print.
but the point is that staples as one horrible warranty program and therefor not worth purchasing from especially if i am wanting a warranty, would just be dumb. lesson learned

Staples (Canadian ones anyway) don't have their own warranties for furniture, its done by a third party, which is why it can't be processed at the store level. At least that's the way things were when I left there.
And yeah, the warranties aren't always the greatest, the fact that it was on special for 70 bucks probably pushed it into the "replacement plan" bracket, something that the furniture guy probably should have told you.
