Never played a modern game based in space.

There is Eve Online, but..that requires you to be jobless and obsessed to really get into it. (<---once was)

Eve Online also pretty much requires you to be a complete asshole to everybody you meet....

mass effect is a good game and i would definitely recommend to try it but you should get some other games as well? are you looking mostly for fpr or rpgs in a space environment?

what about space simulators? not necessarily a simulator just that you are usually flying a space ship.

I wouldn't mind trying different games. I'm still checking out every game mentioned so far.

The only space game I've played (as far as I can remember) is Galaga on the NES.

what about the mars simulator

aint played it. Word on the street is it needs much work.

So does Kerbal but at least right now its playable, got a campaign and everything.
