Never mind...

scraped it off with my finger nail as good as possible. Then used some alcohol to clean it and the heat spreader. I then lapped (just a little) the HS to get it cleaned off some more and cleaned it with alcohol again.
 
Alcohol does not seem to work that great. I was wondering if something like Goo Gone or an equivilant could be used, then clean it offwith alcohol. Just wondering...
