Looks like Acer just did a huge price drop...AL2416 monitors are now retailing for <$500 at many places, including NewEgg.

The monitor is pretty no-frills and has HDCP on the DVI port but no HDMI input. According to PC World, this monitor has great image quality after you set the colors to "user-defined".
 
Thanks for pointing that up. Yup, they're the same. CompUSA has the better Acer 24" panel for $450 shipped plus a free printer, so I'm going to buy that one instead.

Wow, cool. You might want to post this in the other thread also. Whats the difference between the panels?
