Since no water goes in to "flush" it, that thing would seriously start to reek after only a few days.

I always put the seat and cover down by default though, so the cat does not drink the water.

Which is why some of us higher functioning people sit at home, but stand in public bathrooms/bathrooms at work, since those are cleaned and mopped at least once a day.

So, yeah, I faced it - toilet rims and the floor around a standard toilet do get splashed if you stand. And, that's pretty nasty. I don't want that in my house, and rather than purchasing an ugly urinal that would be next to my face when I'm sitting to take a crap, I just sit to take a leak as well as to crap.

Right there with you on this. Sure, the wife cleans once or twice a week, but it's still 3-4 day old urine she has to clean up - why should I make her deal with that when it's no less convenient to take a seat?

The idea for this product is terrible, the execution of this product is terrible, and their kickstarter page is crashing my fucking browser.

I vote that the person behind this stabs themselves in the stomach with a sword.

Also, am I the only one with enough goddamned sense to just take some TP and wipe my pee dribble off the rim of the toilet when I'm done?

While I do think that this is a horrible idea with bad execution to boot, I also think you guys are missing a huge huge market for consideration.

Public restrooms of small businesses or bars. I can't even recall how many bars I've been to where they have individual bathrooms and the toilet seats are soaked in urine. I imagine that this would appeal to these small business owners... at least until they figure out that people are asshole who will pee on the seats anyways.

I predict this thing will sell half a million to these sorts of markets then taper off completely since no one in their right mind would buy this more than once.

If they can make these eco friendly, recyclable, and really cheap (1/$1) then this may be sustainable.

More to the point, they can run two to four of these things off of one bowl, greatly increasing restroom capacity on the cheap.
