i've got an asus a8n-sli 939 mobo. i'd like to flash the bios to version 1014 (i have 1012). do i just put the bin file in a floppy and boot from the floppy? google tells me so many different ways of doing this. and asus wants me to use the updater INSIDE windows...no thanks.

i got to the point where it said to locate previous version of bios...gave me a browse window as if i was supposed to locate it. am i supposed to download both versions 1012 and 1014 then use 1012 as previous version?

I just use the Asus Update utility. I download the Bios. Unzip the little ah heck. Then I use the utiltiy to locate unzipped file on desktop. The utility will tell me if the file is in proper form. I press to flash bios. I get a little graphic showing flash progress and then a notice to reboot when its done. I reboot and get screen saying something about checksum bla bla and asking me to chose between 2 options. I only recall the one I always chose which is "use defaults" or something to that effect. Then PC boots and its over. I've done that maybe 7 times I think. Floppies and I don't get along and I hate the things.
