Never had real seafood before. Where should I start?

For as long as I can remember I haven't been able to eat seafood. I just avoid it at all costs. This includes any kind of fish, squid, shrimp. The only kind of seafood i have been eaten is lobster, but I can only eat the meat from the appendages. I'm just looking for ideas on where to start?

Seafood is delicious. Scallops, mussels, shrimp, prawns, ohhhh boy. Then all the types of fish... I think I need a seafood dinner this week. It sucks not living near an ocean anymore though, because it is not nearly as fresh.

Try some octopus...😉

But seriously start off with something deep fried and go from there on your way to sushi.

i can eat stuff like kalamari and good quality shellfish.

anything even remotely 'fishy' makes me want to puke like fuck.

i'm guessing OP is similar.

you can go to a chinese restaurant and then look at the fish tank they got there to pick a fish u want and have them to cook it right away. steam is the best for the taste 🙂

red lobster is still pretty good seafood if you're comparing to like, long john silvers. but it's not worth the price.

i wouldn't ever go to a fancy seafood resturaunt becuase i don't want to risk blowing a large chunk of money on a meal and not even liking it.

Find a soul food restaurant, order the fried Catfish and enjoy. I hate seafood, but I can handle fried Catfish, especially with a big side of Mac & Cheese. Still not something I ever go out of my way to order, but can be pretty good at times.
