Except it landed at an airport that was not the original destination. Could have been that there were no contracts in place at the airport to handle the jet Blue plane, or the pilots did not want to deal with the paperwork of unloading passengers and reloading them. You can't just land, let passengers off, take off without some serious paperwork. I would think the pilots would exceed there allowable duty hours.

At any rate... any excuse is lame and I would have led a revolt.

That is not a valid excuse. Not that there is any valid excuse for 7 hours on the plane.

Not sure how you can blame Jet Blue when the FAA was the one which routed the plane to another destination. Since Jet Blue doesn't normally service this airport, I cannot imagine why you would blame them for not having infrastructure at the airport.

I would have spent some time in jail. As soon as they run out of water and the toilets plug up, I am opening a door and employing the chute. If I have to manhandle someone to do it, so be it.

Oh! I so agree... I saw watching an interview of one of the victims this morning... I was like, dude I don't think I can handle this... sometimes I feel people are too nice...

They didnt "need" to do anything. But they "should" have done something. Did you hear what the pilot was radioing to the airport? it was something on the lines of "our airlines is not doing anything, cannot get any help from them, can you airport people do something?"

Another point is, after like 3 - 4 hours the plane was not flyable anymore anyways, not sure what these people we doing sitting on their a$$es in their d1ld0 fitted chairs...

As far as I know, Jet Blue chose BDL when EWR's ILS failed, is that not the case?

And yes, Jet Blue services BDL. (Although I think it is just 1 flight a day)

its not big deal to let people off, i have experience it first hand when a flight i was on had to land at Cheyenne WY because we were running out of fuel due to a big ass thunderstorm that parked itself right over denver and whe had to circle for 2 hours before we landed to refuel. The pilot said we could deplane if we wanted and have people pick us up at the Cheyenne airport.

The problem is getting back on the plane and if there are no TSA agents around it aint happening.

So... What are the penalties for pulling the emergency exit and sliding down to the tarmac?

i dunno but i would insist they charge the airline with false imprisonment.

what did that flight attendant get for making his great escape a couple of years ago?

"...look, you know, we can't seem to get any help from our own company. I apologize for this, but is there any way you can get a tug and a tow bar out here to us, and get us towed somewhere, to a gate or something...I don't care, take us anywhere."

...I have a paraplegic on board that needs to come off, I have a diabetic on here that's got an issue - it's a list of things, I just gotta get some help...

...my priority right now is a tug and a tow bar, I mean, just give me a welding shop I'll be willing to make one myself."

(later)"...thank you very much for helping us out, 'cause I think we got more help from you guys than our own people."
Poor guy was definitely getting exasperated.

FWIW, according to the radio conversation with the pilot, they'd already been in the air ~3 hours before touching down and waiting another 7.5 hours.
