Never flash firmware at 4:30 in the morning

Half awake half asleep I flashed my DVD burner and everything seemed to go ok. I launched nero info tool and it showed the new firmware. I then put a dvd in and clicked the shortcut on the Desktop and got an error, disc read error. I said Oh F*** it must have flashed badly and ruined the burner.

I then decided to go to Windows Management and see if it even recognized the drive. When I popped open management I noticed a disc was loaded. I right clicked and then selected explore and it popped open and there were all my precious files.

I suddenly realized that Windows had reassigned the drive letter to E instead of Y.

6 minutes of panic in the morning.

I have that problem sometimes, especially using Daemon Tools (or any CD-Rom emulator). It's a happy moment when you figure out what's wrong.

Pssssh... My burner was giving me issues, every time I tried to burn an image it said the disc did not have enough free space. I tried several different brands of discs, all gave me the same error. I tried updating the firmware, no luck. Finally I broke down and bought a new burner. SAME ERROR. Repeated the process, different media, updated firmware, different burning software, all said there was not enough free space.

Then it hit me... the image was too big.
