Never brewing inside again

I decided to brew a nice nut brown today. I thought if I got a jump start on it it would be ready for the holidays. So today was my first time brewing outside and it was great. So much easier and convenient. My BIL gave me a turkey fryer for Christmas several years ago. I used the SS pot for brewing but today I decided to try the burner to.

Any home brewers decide it's better to do it outside?

That's a little hot but I would rather have the heat from brewing outside than inside.
It was nice crisp 68 degrees when I started at 8:30 this morning.:)

Nice, brewing outside is a lot better if the weather cooperates, a lot easier to clean up too

My wife kicked me out of the kitchen a few years ago.

A turkey fryer is a lot better than even our gas range. I took an old 15.5 gallon heineken keg, had someone cut the top off with a plasma cutter... I can do 10 gallon batches pretty easily....I got a ball valve put on the side and can drain the brew pot into my fermenters through a strainer without having to lift it off the fryer base....

I did all this on my carport before, but built a garage...so that's where I'll be next once I get my water supply hooked up. It's nice brewing indoors when it's raining outside.

That's what I noticed to. Clean up was so easy. Weather here in Peoria has been awesome this summer. Today was no exception.

Sounds like you got a pretty sweet set up. I only brew 4-6 times a year. A couple batches for the seasons. I'm just a casual brewer.:)
I liked the burner to. The heat was so much better than my gas stove top. I could bring it to a boil in a couple minutes vs 30-40. Best brewing experience I've had in a long time.

what, you don't like that malt-o-meal smell in your kitchen for 2 days after? :p

malt-o-meal LOL :awe:

There are few evenings better spent cooking up a few batches while sucking down the previous ones in good company.

When you first started, how many batches did you ruin before you got it right?

Right around 3 or 4. Our first batch was so bad you could see the trub floating in the bottles. Terrible brews lol but its gotten better over the years. Patience is key when it comes to brewing.:)

I'm on vacation this week. I thought it would be nice to catch up on a hobby and then share it with ATOT.

I'd never considered it before, but being able to make my own cider would be awesome. I don't see myself having the time to learn any time soon, though.

From the title, I feared the thread was about some indoor brewing disaster; glad it's instead good news about successful outdoor brewing.
