🙁

Wow, I have a mess on my hands....FVCK

Edit: Not much of a story.....I added some Zerex lubricant and it made 2 joints leak. There was a puddle of water sitting on my brand new 7800 GT. It will still working when I turned it off...

Now I am draining the entire system and well it sucks.

I use Zerex, but I tested both loops with the Zerex in them before installing them on the computer.

Something to consider. I use fittings that are 1/2in O/D and tubing that's only 7/16in I/D. It's a real PITA to get on but I have no leaks.

damn... I used to watercool but I got tired of messing with it. I'll prolly do it again though when I do a new system build.
Sorry to hear that.

If you think that sux... try T.E.C. cooling... major pain in my ass and electricity bill

Water cooling for novices is best left for things that are presently emenating flames.

Anyone who makes the step up to water cooling has to do it for the first time. This argument holds no water.

Nice pun 🙂
You should get the help of somebody more experienced the first time. Mentor / buddy system FTW!

So what happened?? I've never tried watercooling - seems like more of a PITA then it's worth. I'm guessing the lubricant made the tubing pop off the barbed connectors? Or leak?

Or just do a lot of research and set it up on an old backup system to start. First time I have ever watercooled is also the first time I have cooled using a peltier. Admittedly even I was shocked when I fired everything up for the first time and nothing burst, fried, or melted. A few months later and it's all running fine still, with a decent overclock (1.8Ghz stock to 2.45Ghz) so far.

Just do your homework and pay attention.

The lubricant made the water more "runny" I guess and so it started to seep through the connection on the barbs. I got the system refilled now without the lubricant and it seems to have stopped leaking.

Hopefully nothing is fried.....
