Netzero Platinum vs. Netscape ISP

You may have seen my earlier thread in regards to choosing a new ISP. I've narrowed it down to either Netzero Platinum or Netscape ISP for $6.95/mo, though both require a 12-mo commitment.

It'd be great if I could get some reviews from parties that use either one of these services.

In addition, I seem to have difficulty accessing Netzero's $6.95/mo deal on their website. The only special they have listed is the 3G High Speed for $9.95/month. The only way I can find the $6.95/mo regular platinum deal is to use the link from the comparenow.net website; perhaps Netzero doesn't want people to know about the $6.95/mo regular Platinum deal.

Thoughts?

TIA,
Michael

Don't know how many reviews (if any) you'll get here. The majority of the AT crowd uses broadband in some shape or form. I did use dialup a long time ago but I don't have any personal experience with either of those services. From what I've heard Netzero is the better of the two.

netscape is owned by AOL, so I would assume Netscape ISP is also... guess that would mean people using netscape isp are AOLer's

NetZero started as a free isp, like freei.net. I used them for a bit when they were free.. but freei was better for me.

The only dial-up ISP I have really used is a small local company. which is what I prefer.
I really don't know why anyone would go with dial-up nowadays... broadband is not that much more.
Unless of course you live somewhere that broadband is unavailable...

Try to get the cheapest dsl/cable you can. Bellsouth offers DSL Lite (like 256/by some upload) for like $20 bucks a month.

PeoplePC is better than both. I'm not certain but I think Netzero and Netscape install download accelerators or force you to go to their home page that pop up in their own browers before surfing elsewhere. Check out the UI before making a commitment.
