I'm thikning of switching over to netzero. I've used their free service in my area in the past and since my local isp has recently gone down the crapper I'm gonna swith isp's soon.

So I'm asking to those that use NetZero Platinum is it worth it? Does it act like a regular dial-up? Like I can connect through dialup networking in Win98.

How's you pings and connects? I do a bit of gaming and downloads, do they boot you if you stay on to long. Any busy signals? (I'm wondeirng since thye started that advertsing campaign if there service has degraded)

Thanks for any input guys.

you can use a hack program to get the DUN info to dial in, but they try to force their software on you, so they don't give you instructions on how to use DUN.

As for disconnects, my friend who used it said it disconnected him every 6 hours like clockwork. I never had the luxury of being online 6 hours, but when I was at his house he was usually dead on with his disconnection predictions.

I'm using Netzero Platinum right now ($9.95 a month). The toolbar at the top of the screen is very thing (no taller than the title bar on an IE window). It's unobtrusive and I don't mind.

It's not even worth it to try a DUN hack b/c it's only $10 a month. As far as busy signals, I haven't gotten one yet. And you have to connect through Netzero's dialer, not DUN. I'm using it on Windows XP Build 2481 and it still works great.
