Networking XP

I am trying to network XP Pro on 2 computers. Everytime I create a new share it always reverts back to C$. The new share stays in the drop down box but if you go into sharing, it shows c$, is that ok? I can't seem to have my network appear in "My Network Places." I have setup my network plenty of times with Windows 2000. I even ripped my stack and rebuilt.

Open a command prompt and type net share. You will see every share on the PC, including your new share. You could also use the computer management console. Since you have a command promt open, type compmgmt.msc. You should see the console, and in it shared folders. Double click on it, then click shares.

Did you put them in the same workgroup, or domain?
