Well since the darn SMC router could not handle the taks , (lag all the time, internet sort of dies after a couple hours) i made it into a switch.
I install my old Linksys 4 port router back to the main one, since i have 4 computer here and one laptop on wireless. Here is my setup,
I connect the DSL --> Linksys, then i connect uplink -> SMC router. The SMC router act as DCHP server. While i connect 3 computer on the Linksys router
and make the 4th computer go on the SMC router, the wireless just not working anymore. I make SMC router as 192.168.1.2 and make my Linksys router
as 192.168.1.1, now on all my computer, the XP computers, they have this Internet Connection thing pop out all the time, it is like an internet gateway
and i don't know wat is the use of that, it just act as a internet gateway and the speed on that is only 3.2Mps , so i dont know if it has any effect on my 100Mps network. And on my wireless laptop, i could not connect to internet at all, i found wireless network, and everything, but just no internet , i tried to release the IP and renew , and it does not work also, so i switch it from wireless to cable, and it still did not work , does anyone know wat's up now ? or can anyone point out a better setup for me ? I have SMC Barricade router and Linksys BESFR41 and a hub lying there, so any suggestion would be gladly appreciated ! :]

In your setup, the Linksys should be running as a gateway and the SMC as just a router. If the SMC is still trying to be a gateway, that might confuse things a bit. Really though, I have to ask why you want a second router, other than you had the box handy? Are you actually trying to segment off that part of the network, or are you just trying to use the additional switch ports? If it's just to use the ports, then you should really consider using a switch. Segmenting a network that doesn't need it can introduce complexity that just isn't necessary.

Hmm it is actually the SMC have lag all the time, that's why i dont' use it as a router.
I had linksys for about a yr, but as im going wireless, i bought SMC , well, suppose to be EDITOR's CHOICE
but it turn out to be not good at all, so im just put it there act as a wirelsss access pt and a switch .

that's all i was thinking .. ;]
