i am trying to set up a network between my computer and my brothers computer in the next room. i have the physical connection with the cables and router working. so far i have figured out how to share files and folders. what i really want to do though is share my internet connection. i have comcast cable running on my machine and want to share the connection with my brothers computer. i am running xp pro and he is running xp home. so basically, how do i share internet?

Guy,

The easiset way is to get a wireless router: I use D-Link's 802.11 b but will be upgrading to 802.11g soon. You just plug your PC into the back of the router. Set up is simple and they have a help desk in California- So you can understand the people- Linksys help desk in the Phillipines.

Cost s/b $70-80. Look for sales at Best Buy, Circuit City or via the net. Put a wireless card in his desktop: D-Link sells them too: no wires needed. Stay with the same vendor.

Sounds like you have a router already. Just need to plug the router wan port into your cable internet and plug the two computers into the router.
