Networking problems!

Hey,

I'm trying to set up a simple LAN between my new PC and my old one so I can begin migrating files. But I'm running into many problems trying to get the two systems to see each other over the network. Each has a properly installed NIC, both are running Win2k, and are plugged into a 4-port hub. My new system seems to be working fine. It sees the workgroup and itself, but not the old PC. The old PC is a real mess. When I try to connect to the new system an error message pops up saying..."The server list for this workgroup is not available". I've tried everything I know. I made sure the workgroup names are the same, I asigned each an IP address with the same subnet, nothing works!

Anyone have a clue as to what's wrong? My whole life is in that old PC...especially my MP3's! :-(

add netbeui to both NICs.
make sure computer names/workgroup names are less than 15 chacters alpha-numeric only.
make sure microsoft client is loaded on both
make sure you login
