Networking Problem Needs Quick Solution

At a small business place, there are 3 computers (2 desktops, 1 laptop) that need to be connected and share files and printing. There is an active ADSL connection on a SpeedTouch modem. Into that there is a CNet 8-Port Switch in which the 3 computers are connected.

Problem:
One desktop and the laptop are connected ok and sharing. The other desktop is unable to be seen by the other two. I've checked most if not all of the options and there is still nothing happening the way its supposed to. The physical connections are all ok so i'm thinking that this is probably a configuration issue. I have run the wizard on all three and they are all in the same workgroup. I just can't understand why they won't all see each other.

Are they running Windows XP? Home or Professional? Have you enabled or disabled Simple File Sharing? Are the appropriate firewall ports open?

The desktops are running XP Pro and the laptop (which i'm on right now) is running Windows 2000 Pro.

Where can find the Simple File Sharing?
What ports need to be opened?
