Networking problem in windows 98 se

I recently set up a network between two pc's using a loopback cable and 2 nics. I can transfer mp3 and play games but whenever i try to send a big file like a demo of 60 megs or more, or a zip file it come up with an error at the receiving end when the file is extracting. If it is a winzip file it comes up with a crc error. I dont know what can be wrong as ive installed new nics but the same problem arises.

Has anyone ever had this problem an if so how do you fix this.
