Networking problem in Win2k

I just upgraded from win98 -> win2k.

My network card shows up as working, but I cannot connect to any sites or ping anything. I get the following error when I try to ping an address (even one local to my network).

PING transmit failed, error code 65

I've tried another network card just in case it was some peculiarity with win2k, but the same exact thing happens. (Also, I was sure to find the win2k drivers for the respective NICs).

Any ideas? Both of the cards have a Realtek chipset.

I'm running on an MSI K7T Turbo.

Thanks

Yes, I have NetBUI and TCP/IP installed. I'm using the exact same TCP/IP settings that I was in Win98. The weird this is that, for a short period of time, I could ping internal and external IP addresses, but DNS wouldn't resolve anything..

I'm stumped.. in the meantime, I'm going to try and install SP1 and SP2 to see if that helps any.

Try removing the nic fron 2000 and reloading it with the Win2K driver for it. Also try reinstalling TCP/IP. When I upgraded the first time it borked by setup too. Thats why I only do clean installs anymore (plus dual-booting is a godsend).
