networking problem in win 98

i have 3 98 computers hooked up through a 10 base hub, all three light up green on the network cards and the hub. One computer can see the other 2, and the other two can only see 1 other computer. They all have TCP/IP, netbeui, and client for microsoft networks, When I try to play games over IPX, it doesn't seem to work, any suggestions?

It is best to remove all the unnecessary protocols, cuz the more you have, the slower ur PCs will be...

Yeah, i would remove the extraneous protcalls. Here's the system I've used on 2-12 puter lans successfully.I find the easiest is simply to use the network section of the control panel and add TCP/IP protocall for your network card on each computer. Then after the reboot go into the tcp settings and assign each an individual static IP address. 192.168.0.xx seems to be the most popular, set the subnet mask on all three to 255.255.255.0. Make your strongest computer 192.168.0.1. Set the DNS configuration to enable DNS and set the dns server search order to 192.168.0.1 on each. go into the identity section of the network control panel and make sure all three are on the same workgroup and have individual names - voila! (hopefully!!)

Using TCP/IP for your internal network is not really secure... you should unbind all your file & printer sharing from TCP/IP... go to Shields Up, they have step-by-step instructions on how you can go about doing this... thus making your network more secure...
