I'm running Windows XP, all current updates and service packs. I'm using Wildblue satellite internet service, hard wired to a D-link DGL-4300 router. Every other computer on the network (Whether it be using WIFI or the LAN ports) can connect through the router and surf fine. My computer, all of a sudden stopped doing this. I can still connect to the router as I mentioned but cannot reach anything past that. No ping replies on any sites, nothin. List of things I have tried:
New cables from the broadband modem to the router
New cables from the router to the onboard LAN of my Asus SK8V motherboard
Installed and configured a known good WIFI card to bypass onboard NIC
Configured a static IP address (this seems to prevent me from connecting to the router entirely)
Uninstalled, and reinstalled the TCP/IP stack
Uninstalled, and reinstalled the winsock libraries
Performed a WindowsXP repair installation
Installed NEW clean Windows XP installation on a seperate hard disc, same hardware otherwise
Ran chkdsk /r on all hard disks
disabled the onboard nic while attempting to run the wifi
removed the wifi card and tried onboard nic only
Installed wifi card in other available PCI slots
Connected to different LAN ports on the router
I'm at my witts end, I've tried every possible thing I can think of and have yielded zero results. Do you guys have ANY, ANY ideas? D-link support is about the most worthless thing I've ever seen before, I'm not bothering with them anymore.
