Networking Problem--a little help?

I have two Win2k machines set up on a home network with ICS via a crossover cable. The client computer often can't get internet access--I have to re-log on to the host to get it to work, and sometimes it won't work even then. I have dial-on-demand set up, and the client actually dials up my connection and gets the host logged on, but it still doesn't get internet access. I'm at a loss.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Have you pinged both the machines from the oposite machine? And make sure they come out 100%. I had a smilar problem, not with ics but my network kept acting crazy on one computer. So I checked and the patch cable was not perfect and would some times cuase a bit of inerferince.

Also why not just set up a proxy server?

Why not, indeed? After I posted, I looked around the web and read that ICS under Win2k tends to act up. Set up a proxy, and ICS works like a charm now. Thanks.
