Networking Printers in Win2K

I am trying to share a printer (a HP DeskJet 932C) between two computers. The two are sharing a cable connection, and I have them set up as follows:

Coaxial cable line > Cable Modem > Router > Computer 1 (which has printer hooked up through parallel port) > Computer 2

I tell my first computer to share the printer, and call it HP Deskjet 932c. When I try to add the networked printer on the other computer, it does not work. When I choose to add printer, I select network printer, hit next, type in the name of the networked printer, and am instantly given the message:
"Could not connect to the printer. You either entered a printer name that was incorrect or the specified printer is no longer connected to the server. Click Help for more information."
If I don't enter a printer name and just click next to let it browse the network for printers, all that shows up under the "Shared Printers" List is "Microsoft Windows Network." What am I doing wrong to set this up, and how should I do it? I looked at the AT faq about sharing printers and the Practicallynetworked site, but neither were very helpful.

Well there could be a number of things wrong with this. First, how are the computers networked? Are you sharing the internet connection through computer1 or through a switch/hub then the router? When you tell your computer to print to that printer, are you putting in the full network path? Also, take out all spaces in the printer name. It's oldschool, but it does make itcleaner.ie: \\TheComputer\HPDeskjet932c<FONT color=#000000>.</FONT> Check to make sure you can see the other computer in "My Network Places"->Entire Network -> Microsoft Networks -> YourWorkgroupName. If not, you may have something wrong with your network settings in one or both of your computers. My ultimate solution would be to get (if you don't already have one) a Linksys or similar router/switch, and a HP JetDirect print server for your printer. Then you can print directly over the network and not have to depend on computer1 being on to print from computer2.
