I just got a new Apple powerbook g3 running OS X. I am trying to network this thing on my LAN with my other PCs. Is there any way to get access to my powerbook's files from my other PCs and vice-versa? I tried using the "connect to server (apple key + k)" command in OSX, but I have to re-connect each of my network locations each time I restart. Is there a "true" way to network, or is this all there is? I am running a basic workgroup configuration on my LAN.

What do you mean by "true" way to network the machines? You can freely connect your powerbook to your PC just the way you've been doing. To get the PC to be able to connect to your mac, go to http://xamba.sourceforge.net/ssp/index.shtml and download the Samba Sharing Package. It is an OS X distribution of Samba which has a very nice GUI Samba config tool and it's free (hence the sourceforge project :)).

What other way do you want to network these machines? You can set up ssh on both and ssh/sftp between the two, or you can install a program like Timbuktu to provide nice remote control features on both (or VNC for a free, less feature filled alternative that works well too).
