Networking noob seeks ICS with ps2 help.

I just got DSL through Qwest with MSN premium. It comes with a Actiontec router, the router has one ethernet port and one usb port (and supposedly wirless capabilities but I dont wanna go there for cash reasons). I have one PC and a PS2 I want to hook up.

The setup process recommends I use the ethernet port and not the usb to hook up my PC (for what reason?). So I want to hook my PC to the ethernet port, add another nic to my pc and run a crossover cable to my ps2 and then enable ICS. But for some reason this isnt working. The reason I want to set up this way rather than just usb to PC and ethernet to PS2 is because...well...I will have to buy more cables...and I want to just use what I have🙂

How do I go about setting up this way?

And also, what is the disadvantage to hooking my dsl router to my pc with usb?

thanx
