Before I spend any more time reading through site after site, review after review, I have a very simple question on the Netgear RT314.

Can I set up a local network for file and print sharing use between my 2 home PCs with the RT314?

My current setup has Verizon DSL service coming through the line--> to the modem --> to the router --> hooked to each PC, one Intel based, one AMD based. Although I do get a shared internet connection, at the moment it can be extremely slow sometimes, other times not even connecting at all. *These issues I feel I can work out eventually.* But my main question I would really like to know-- is my setup described here enough to get my 2 PCs networked somehow? Or do I need to purchase another device for the local networking? I just want to share some files between my PCs! Yet there they sit, worlds apart, sharing an internet connection, yet unknowing of each other's existence. Very frustrating (particularly when you know NOTHING about networking like me)

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out here.

all you need is atleast 2 pcs, a hub/router/swtich/brouter.......... and some CAT5 cable, and NICs in each of those computers. you can setup everything you stated you wanted to do in your post with this netgear RT314......
