I have an IOGEAR GPSU21 printserver (1 port / usb).
I am having a problem and I cannot seem to identify what the problem is or how to resolve it. I will provide all of the symptoms below. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
1. Using Windows 7 (64 Bit)
2. Firewall off
3. Printer is HP 1320 Laser Printer (supported by GPSU21)
4. IOGear GPSU21 Printer Server
5. DHCP from Cable Modem
6. Plugged into cable modem is a GS108 Netgear switch
7. Without the print server everything is working OK Computer gets it IP address from DHCP and is working correctly
8. About 45 seconds after I plug in the print server I notice that lost network connectivity with from the computer when I unplug the print server connectivity comes back
9. I tried setting up DHCP to give out addresses from a.b.c.100 a.b.c.125 and then gave a static address to my computer a.b.c.25 nothing different
10. I tried different ports on the switch
I am not sure where to even start troubleshooting this. I called IOGear and they told me that someone will get back to me in 24-48 hours. They have never seen this before.
I am not going to hold my breath for a solution from them (except if they want to replace the device)
