I am directly connecting a DVR recorder to a PC with a crossover cable. A hub/router is not involved.
I've set the IP, and the Subnet Mask of the DVR and PC, but still nothing works. The only thing left is the Gateway. My questions is, what must I, or do I even have to, set the Gateway settings to? If so, should the Gateway settings be identical for the PC and DVR, or should they vary by one number?
I make no assertions that this is the root of the problem, but I've got an idea it might have something to do with it.
