Networking Cables and Cable Modem Question?!

Is there such a cable called a Cat-6e?

If so where can you purchase it?

Also, should I ditch my Motorola Surfboard 5100 for a Motorola Surfboard 5120?

How often do they come out with new Cable Modems? Are they due for a new one soon? If so when?

What do you need CAT6e for?

No reason to "Ditch" your modem.

What do you expect that a new Modem would do?

I am getting the new Linksys WRT330n gaming router and since it comes with a gigabit switch I planned on getting some cables (which I did tonight) that were cat 6 but I wanted to get some that I did not have to worry about speed issues so I just got normal cat 6 ones...

I actually did ditch it and the reason why I did it was because I have been having internet problems for months on in and got tired of the HSI technicians coming out to my house to tell me "oh there is nothing wrong that we can see" and leave to only my demise that the internet is still crapping out on me. But that new modem has worked perfectly so far ^_^

Well asking a question that simple "Should I ditch my motorola...." is much different than switching because your having a problem. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Don't replace things just because there's something new out. Heck, look at Vista...I won't even consider "upgrading" unless Vista offers something I'm looking for. At my company, XP and 2000 works perfectly well for our needs.

I really did not know that it was broken... I figured I would give it a try since the store manager told me if it did not work I could bring it back with a full refund. ^_^ But thanks to you all for all the responses.
